Trick Tip: Learn An Ollie with Kody Noble
“Kody Noble is here to show you one of the most important tricks you can learn on a skateboard, the Ollie. Once you learn the all important Ollie, the realm of what is possible on a skateboard will open up immensely. Noble demonstrates a wide range of applications for this trick on each of the Arbor Shakedown skateboards including the 32, 35, and 38 inch models. You can pop Ollies anywhere, anytime you are riding no matter if you are freeriding, sidewalk surfing or attacking the skatepark. Get this trick down and it’ll open the door for all kinds of more advanced tricks and it’ll just make your skateboarding so much more fun. So go have more fun!”

Kody Noble
Sometimes the journey is more rewarding than the destination. Kody and I were driving across town to hit some new hills when Kody spotted this bank out of the corner of his eye.
“Pull over, let’s skate that.”
We parked, hopped out, and did goofy longboarder-at-the-street-spot tricks until No-Play told me to grab the camera ’cause he was going to hippy jump the railing. This one went in third try. After one more for good measure, the security guard kicked us out. Max Dubler photo.

El Salvador
El Salvador! Louis and James were lucky enough to make a trip down over the winter. The trip was fast, non-stop skating, and good times. Back to Play Sports made the weekend happen with a race, slide jam, and hosting much of the local scene. The skateboard community is growing fast! You’ll be hearing more from this crew later but right now they are out bombing Volcanoes.

Calvin Staub Gettin’ It
Madrid and Venom rider Calvin “50 Cal” Staub gettin’ after it on one of our favorite canyon runs. Remember: you never know what you’re going to find around a blind corner; so always stay in your lane on an open road.

Raw Run: Dick Around
Generally, the larger the session, the more time you spend at the top and bottom of the hill. What better way to pass the time then messing around on your skateboard.

Skatesgiving Photos: Part 1
As a west coast transplant–I’m from Rhode Island and went to school in New York before moving to California–I was pretty excited for the opportunity to shoot skate photos back east in late fall.
