Island vibes are unmistakeable. You arrive in a beautiful place, soak in the local flavor and you feel good! Please enjoy Paris team rider Amanda Powell skating in Hawaii, as she gives us an idea of what it means to be on “Island Time”.
Local Madrid, Venom and Caliber rider Pete Eubank was all stoked to go bomb this big hill with tunnels and construction, so Max got up early and got the footage.
One day with Cory Hirschman. Skating every thing from mini ramps to hills.
The mighty Cliff Coleman, ripped first-try on this crazy steep, rough hill.
I took a bunch of photos of San Diego local and Arbor/Gullwing/Muir rider Jimmy Riha earlier this year for a SkateSlate article on San Diego (check it here). They didn’t all make it into the magazine, so here they are for your viewing pleasure.
Jimmy lives skating-distance from Blacks Beach. The access road is a super fun skate spot with high-quality people watching. Between the surfers, college students, gay nudists, and elderly exercisers, you’re sure to have some interesting conversations on the walk back up.
Leathered up for inland speed runs with Muir Skate boss Scott Lembach.
Bonus Maryhill Festival of Speed photo because you only live once.
Matt K. & Brian Peck went to Hawaii, they did the Paris Truck Co Oahu island session thing. Simultaneously, they captured some pixels with the Hawaiian brethren of Oahu. The Locals did what they do best; Sugaring up the island of aloha. A hui hou.
As long as Deano keeps putting them on, we’ll show up to the Maryhill Freeride. Here’s another two minutes of hillside shenanigans set to thumping techno, brought to you by Madrid.
A few weeks ago I was out at one of our favorite runs trying to get a couple photos of Chance Gaul, the crazy good Laguna grom. Chance was chilling in the road helping me get my flashes set up when local shredder Tai Nakayama came flying down and busted this sweet squat slide. Steeziest photo-bomb ever.
“Danny Connor has been bombing hills before you saw it on the X-Games and is still ripping today. Follow Danny as he heads back to the hills that got him started.”
