It’s long overdue but here is Part 1 of the Best of 2011. We promise you wouldn’t have to wait as long for 2012 to come out.
Every year Landyachtz, Bear and Hawgs sponsor races and freerides. Two local events are the Britannia Classic and the Whistler Longboard Festival, held every year just off of the beautiful sea to sky highway.
Mischo Erbahn has one of the best skate-faces in the business and the good sense to rock a clear visor.
Maryhill in all its curvaceous glory. Click through for a much larger version.
Andrew Chapman always has an awesome skate-face.
Chip Wood prefers to hide behind two layers of tinting.
Biker Sherlock showed up and raced. That black on black suit is mighty stylish, if I may say so myself.
The Festival of Speed took a page out of the Freeride rulebook and let this giant pack of dudes get a run. I see Dustin Hampton, Nick Ronzani, Sinjin Davis, Kyle Chin, #MaximGarantRousseau, Will Royce, and a couple dudes I don’t recognize.
Laguna grom Ethan Vinograd winning the Junior Is. They had to run the finals twice and lil’ homie took it home both times, like a boss.
#MGR, Spencer Smith, and some other dudes enjoying a practice run.
Dalua winning his semifinal. Alex Tongue, Billy Meiners, Dillon Stephens, and Nicolas Desmarais bring up the rear.
Repechage was pretty heavy this year. This is Brian Bishop beating Max Capps and Nick Ronzani.
This ginger kid got “No Soul” on the back of his leathers. Killing it.
Alicia Fillback bought Skatie Katie’s old leathers, showed up at Maryhill and won the first race she ever entered. We’re stoked on Alicia.
See y’all next summer.
Australian skatehouse mate put together this coverage of this year’s Kelowna Skylands. Make sure you watch the video till the end, best part for sure.

A thunderstorm rolled into Whistler the morning of race day cooling off the temperature and bringing variable riding conditions. Masters, Women, and Juniors where held on a rain soaked course. By afternoon the sky started to clear up leading to a patch first couple of rounds in the open division. By the time quarter final heats were up, the track was dry and racing got tighter. Congratulations to Andrew Chapman on the win!

“Going faster than you can jump off is the best feeling in ‘boarding. Any time you get a chance to bomb a hill without traffic, we’re there. Thanks to Bob and the crew at NHS for the ride. Know your history.” –Jake Phelps
Andrew Chapman‘s favourite spot in the world, the French Alps. Tour de France routes, 30 mins of downhill in each direction. Perfect pavement beautiful scenery, cliffs, waterfalls, WW2 bunkers, amazing corner combinations. The highest paved road in Europe. Skating a Landyachtz Chinook with Smokey trucks and Hawgz mini monsters for wheels. Also featuring James Kelly, Scoot Smith, and unfortunately he only had one clip of Katie Neilson.
