Attack of Danger Bay X: Sector 9 Edition

Special thanks to Timeship Racing for putting on this years Ditch Slap. Just to reiterate, this event is sick! While this year was hit with heavy head winds, it didn’t stop people from getting slapped. If you don’t get slapped then you’re not riding hard enough. Choice Ditch Slap Photos

Ditch Slap is pure awesomeness. If you are unaware of the longstanding event, you’re blowing it. Ditch Slap isn’t just a downhill race, nor a freeride or slalom event. Skaters from all over the world converge on the desert city of Albuquerque to shred the city’s ditches for days. Spirits are high, vibes are mellow, everyone’s very safe and having the time of their lives.

After a rowdy Danger Bay race weekend a crew of us piled into the Mercado van for a road trip down to LA while skating every spot we could fit in. It may only be 3 years ago but it’s rad to look back and see how much the skill level has risen. If you missed Part 1 be sure to check it out.

“This year is time to get shit done and I am on a mission. This is just the start of the gnar that is going to go down this year. I’m really wanting to push the sport that we love and show people what I am all about, which is having fun and shredding. The scene here is growing and there are a lot of kids that are getting stoked on riding. I decided on having a little contest here in town. A campus push race, and mini-ramp jam on my ramp, and a race to marble brewery for a bar tab. It should be a lot fun and i’ve told people and they are getting stoked. Anything is possible if you just put your mind to it and the sky is the limit. Lets push things together buddy. My mind is set on it and there is nothing stopping me now. Tell everyone out there YEAH BUDDY for me and we’ll be talking soon. Much love and peace out.” – Dave Angelus

Louis and Kody took our friend Dave Angelus to a hidden gem of a run when he was still in town a few weeks ago. This road is loaded with rad turns, grass rides and gnar pavement which makes it a super fun one to ride. A few bowl shredding clips also found their way into this one. Skate it all and have some fun. It’s that WOOP WOOP, y’knawatimsayin?
