2015 Maryhill Festival of Speed – Practice Day 2

Event Coverage

On the second day of practice, riders were given transponders and could review their times at the bottom of the track. Although the recorded times do not carry on, it was a good chance to try several different “group qualifying” methods. Mikel Echegaray Diez nearly broke the 3 minute mark, and the fastest standup skateboarder was only seconds behind. Tamara Prader was clocked in as the fastest woman down the track & Alex Charleson as the quickest junior. During the fourteen practice runs, at least 50 of the riders did not use their transponders. Notably, most of the riders from Brazil chose to keep their times hidden from the world. We shall see which of the top contenders maintain their position when the solo qualification start in the morning. Qualifying times are subject to change when riders are by themselves on the 2.2 mile, 22 corner historic Maryhill Loops Road.

Pross was not in the top 100 on practice day, but times can change in the blink of an eye.

The Canadian Junior to watch out for is Alex Charleson.
