This one goes out to everyone holding it down and finding some way to shred through the dead of winter.
East Coast skaters are a different breed. They deal with swamp ass in summer, limb-numbing cold in winter, and rugged spots year round. Winter is the worst. When the hills aren’t wet from snow and ice, they’re covered in salt and sand. When you do get to skate, the below-freezing temperatures demand many layers of warm clothing and softer urethane all around. The pain of slamming is exacerbated by the sting of the cold. You really have to want it.
