Rip City Skate

Portland has one of the most diverse and developed skateboard communities in the world. With a variety of terrain and a city ordinance allowing riders to skate nearly everywhere in city, the scene is strong and the riding in this video shows it. For more info on the Portland scene check out PDX Downhill.

“Some of you might have gotten to see this, or even have copies of the few DVDs that were distributed. It’s about time this edit got seen by everybody, before all the skating is outdated. Mostly filmed summer through winter of 2009/2010 in the last hour of daylight, we had to bust ass to get a lot of this filmed and edited in time for the DVD deadline. I have never spent so much time on an edit, and it’s one of the only ones I can still watch and be stoked every time. There’s a story behind almost every clip in this f*cker, and more people to thank than I can think of, so check it out.” -Casey Morrow

PORTLAND CITY ORDINANCE 20.12.205

“It is legal to skate on any street or sidewalk in the city 24 hours a day outside of the defined downtown core. In the downtown core area you are allowed to skate in the street only, not on the sidewalk…”
