Skate House Media would like to give a big shout out to Rip City Skate, based out of Portland, Oregon. Rip City has been a supporter of the scene since day one and has no plans of slowing down. This shop bleeds skateboarding. Shop owner JP Rowan is a die hard skater and that what we like to see. It’s all about the passion! If you’re in the Portland area be sure to stop by the shop or visit them online. Rip City Skate’s support is making Skate House Media a reality so please support us both by checking them out! If you need gear they got you covered. KEEP IT CORE BABY!!!!

“Opened in 2009, Rip City Skate was established with the intention of being the first core longboard skate shop. We have spent the past two years catering first and foremost to the growing race scene of Portland. In the process we have become the preferred skate shop for riders of all styles throughout the Portland area. At Rip City Skate we make our community top priority. Throughout the year Rip City Skate host a number of races and events in the Portland area. We also sponsor dozens of other events in the Portland area and beyond. While the employees and team riders of Rip City Skate are all proficient downhill skateboarders, we are also know for general versatility as skateboarders riding everything from Park, Pool, Street and Slalom. We even have our own indoor ramp the ‘Gnarble,’ a shallow indoor wood bowl, which is becoming notorious for it’s quick tranny and overall gnarly design. The Rip City Skate crew regularly sessions the Gnarble along with a number of other world class hills, and skateparks throughout the Pacific North West.

“For 2011, Rip City Skate is working hard to provide the same great service and expertise to the rest of the world via our newly updated website. In store, our product selection is one of the most unique in the Industry. We have close to 200 board models from numerous smaller independent brands, along with boards from some of the bigger industry leaders like Landyachtz, Sector 9, and Madrid. We carry most longboard wheel and truck brands. We are continually adding product from our storefront to the website, and hope to have our full selection available online early this summer.

“Rip City Skate is stoked for the opportunity to sponsor Skate House Media. The guys at the Skate House are important contributors to the growth of longboarding around the world. A number of the riders from Rip City Skate have been housed by the Skate House Media crew, so we truly appreciate and understand the importance of what they are doing. By sponsoring/advertising with Skate House Media, we hope to preserve the future of the Skate House and its influence on the skate industry.”
