Back in August, housemate Brian Peck traveled east to his home state of Connecticut to visit family and friends. What was supposed to be a short vacation turned into a much longer stay after one false step at the local skatepark…

In Brian’s own words: “I was skating a bowl I knew very well, went to run out of a carve, took one step and heard a sound you never want to hear. I immediately knew my ankle was broken. I’ve had my fair share of road rash, bails and crashes but I was surprised by how quickly the situation went bad and how easily I broke both the tibia and fibula in my ankle. A friendly reminder to all, skating is dangerous. Do it long enough and you will get hurt. Situations can change in an instant and leave you in pain. Always ride responsibly and wear your safety gear.”
Two months, nine screws and one metal plate later, Brian is recovering well and hopes to be back at the SkateHouse shredding gnar around New Year’s.
