Last year Stephen Vaughan was sitting at home looking for new spots on Google Maps when he found an insane private road in Beverly Hills with a bunch of steep, tight hairpins. Not expecting a reply, he emailed the property owner to see if he could get permission to skate.
In March Stephen hit me up to go film and take photos: he’d heard back from the property manager and they were stoked to host an event. I got my gear and met a bunch of Lanydachtz dudes at the front gate.
The road is turnt up. I didn’t skate because I was getting over an injury, but it’s sort of like Giants Head meets Burke: super steep, narrow, with good pavement and a ton of hairpins. Check the video on Stephen’s Facebook for more info on the hill.
The event is October 15-16. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, a temporary skatepark, and music performances. Follow @givea2ndchanceskatefestival on Instagram for updates.
